Salesforce to acquire AI analytics platform Loops
The acquisition will support Salesforce's agentic analytics strategy by helping businesses move from identifying performance trends to taking action based on data insights.
Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, an AI-powered analytics platform that monitors business performance, identifies the reasons behind changes in key metrics and recommends potential actions.
The deal will expand Tableau's analytics capabilities, enabling customers to use AI agents to investigate business performance, identify anomalies and prioritise actions. Loops' technology can be triggered through Slack and email, allowing teams to receive proactive insights within their existing workflows.
Salesforce strengthens Tableau's agentic analytics capabilities
Loops uses machine learning models to monitor key performance indicators, explain changes in business metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Its capabilities are designed to help organisations understand not only what has happened, but also the factors driving performance and the actions they could take in response.
Salesforce plans to integrate Loops' technology into Tableau following the transaction's completion. The move supports the company's ambition to help customers progress from data-driven decision-making towards agentic analytics, where AI agents can identify insights and support action within business workflows.
Tableau aims to connect insights with business action
Mark Recher, EVP and General Manager of Tableau: "Tableau’s mission has been helping people see, understand and act on data. Loops accelerates this mission, using powerful agentic AI to uncover the drivers behind business performance and surface where teams and agents can take action in real time. Following close, we look forward to bringing these capabilities to Tableau and helping customers turn insights into action faster."
The integration is intended to make analytics more actionable by connecting performance monitoring with recommendations and decision-making. Rather than requiring teams to interpret dashboards independently, the technology aims to surface relevant findings proactively and help employees respond within the tools they already use.
Loops acquisition expands AI analytics opportunities
Tom Laufer, CEO and Co-Founder of Loops: "We built Loops around a simple idea: analytics should help businesses understand what drives their results and decide what to do next. Salesforce and Tableau share our vision for making actionable analytics accessible for every organization. Together, we’ll have the opportunity to bring what we’ve built to customers at an entirely new scale."
Following the acquisition, Salesforce intends to bring Loops' technology and specialist employees into Tableau, with the goal of helping customers uncover reliable insights and make better-informed decisions using their data.
The transaction is expected to close in early November of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions. Once completed, the acquisition will add Loops' AI-powered performance analysis capabilities to Tableau as Salesforce continues to develop its approach to agentic analytics.
